Here is a clear and concise comparison of Koho's four different ways of recording hours: Workday Clock, Timecard, Timesheet and + Session. Each method serves a slightly different user need and user role.

1. Workday clock

Purpose:
Automatic time tracking during the day.

Usage:

  • Starting and stopping from the clock icon.

  • Can be interrupted, for example. for lunch.

  • Automatically create working time periods for the day.

Target audience:
All employees, especially those who don't log accurate task information.

Data accuracy:
Daily level monitoring, no customer or task level required.


2. Time card

Purpose:
Real-time time time tracking directly to tasks and projects.

Usage:

  • Activated by the search box or keyboard shortcut (Alt/Opt + Z).

  • Select the customer/project/task → the clock starts.

  • To finish, pressing "Finish" will move to the Unconfirmed tab.

Target audience:
Users who record work hours directly at the customer/project level.

Data accuracy:
Accurate task-specific real-time logging.


3. Timesheet

Purpose:
Weekly viewing, management and editing of lessons.

Usage:

  • Used in the "Timesheet" tab.

  • Shows the weekly view.

  • Hours can be added, edited or copied on a weekly basis.

Target audience:
Users who view or manage hour entries in the weekly view.

Data accuracy:
Task-specific entry, focuses on examining the big picture.


4. + Session

Purpose:
Manual time entry, also retrospectively or seasonally.

Usage:

  • Activated by the "+ Shift" button.

  • Allows you to create a single or period entry.

  • Enter the customer, task, time and possible products/additional information.

Target audience:
Users who log hours retrospectively or as group entries.

Data accuracy:
Accurate and flexible feeding, good for retrospective and mass entry.
