How do I create a new contract?

This guide goes through step by step how to create a new contract in the Koho system.

Content of the instructions:

  1. Opening the contract form

  2. Fill in the basic contract information

  3. Select the contract products

  4. Set up billing information

  5. Set up verification information

  6. Review and finalize the document

  7. Preview

  8. Save and activate the contract


  1. Opening the contract form

  1. Go to Contracts.

  2. Click the + Contract button (located at the top or left of the page).


  1. Fill in the basic contract information

  • Enter a name for the contract.

  • Select a customer through the search or create a new customer directly from the form.

  • If necessary, fill in other basic information, such as the person in charge and an internal comment.

Changes to the customer's information are automatically saved on the customer card.


  1. Select the contract products

  1. Go to the Products tab.

  2. Click + Product.

  3. Select the desired products from the list or search using the search field.

  4. Press Add selected products.

If necessary, you can assign additional information to the products by clicking on the product row.


  1. Set up billing information

  1. Go to the Billing tab.

  2. Choose whether the contract is valid until further notice or for a fixed term.

  3. Set the billing start date and billing interval.

  4. Set up other billing-related settings as needed.

The form also provides a preview of future decline periods.


  1. Set up verification information

  1. Go to the Verification tab.

  2. Choose a verification method (e.g., verbal, email, or signature).

  3. If necessary, add a comment and an attachment.


  1. Review and finalize the document

  1. Go to the Document tab to send the agreement to the customer.

  2. Select a contract template and edit the clauses or free text as needed.

  3. On the Preview tab, review the final appearance of the document.

If you don't need the document for the customer, you can skip this step.


  1. Preview

You can preview the agreement in the "Preview" tab. The preview will open in a new tab. N.B. The preview below is just an example - the preview will show a contract template tailored to your company.


  1. Save and activate the contract

  • Click Save.

  • After that, activate the plan so that billing can begin.
